The Story
2002 SS #4452 was ordered November 17, 2001 from Gary Eggers at Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville, NJ.
The order was accepted almost immediately and the car was built by Chevrolet at their Ste. Therese,
Quebec, Canada plant and delivered to SLP Engineering for conversion into an SS before Christmas.
A few weeks off for the holidays, and a week or so in transit, and #4452 arrived at Gearhart Chevrolet
late afternoon on Saturday, January 5, 2002.
I got the call Monday morning, January 7, as I was shoveling the driveway from our first snow storm
of the winter. How ironic. Went to see it at Gearhart that night.
I picked up the SS on Saturday, January 12, an unusually warm afternoon for January. It has been more
fun than life ever since!
