Originally built in 1927, Mike will be making it home some 80 years later.
THE SOLAR SYSTEM. Dad and I put the brackets up on a very cold day in early April, finally got the panels mounted and plumbed in the first week of August. She works great! Free hot water for Mikey!
FURNITURE AND MOVING IN (November 2007-February 2008). Well it's about time. 5 months after purchasing the home I finally move stuff into it. Bring in the new furniture, and install the new range, washer, and dryer. All the CAT 5 and coax cable wiring is finished. The racks for the music room have been finished. Stair trim work complete.
PAINTING AND FLOOR REFINISHING (September-October 2007). Special thanks to Roger at Randall Wood Floors for the beautiful work he did refinishing the floors, and installing and finishing new stair treads. All the rooms have been primed and painted. The new custom sized equipment racks from Nice-Racks arrived and have been finished. There is also new mood lighting in the music room. The area rug for the living room is funky. The staircase still needs to be trimmed.
GOODBYE POOL (August 10-18 2007). The pool gets drained and dismantled. Maureen contemplates the hole in the yard, and eventually takes her first 'dive' into the pool.
JULY - AUGUST, 2007 Wallpaper removed in hall, stairway, kitchen. Walls cleaned, spackled and sanded. Living room stripes sanded. Interior and exterior electrical work completed (Lights!). Stair stringer exposed and scraped. Living room boxes cut in for cable/phone/networking. Pictures of new music room.
JUNE 23, 2007 Wall-to-wall carpeting was removed to reveal old hardwood floors. The floors will be refinished
JUNE 19, 2007 - CLOSING DAY The day I bought the house. Pink! Pink! and more pink! Methinks some redecorating is in order.
JANUARY 2007 The pictures from the real estate listing.
SEPTEMBER 1928 These pictures are courtesy of the Stanhope Historical Society. Believed to be taken circa September 1928 when the Lake Musconetcong Club (a country club resort) celebrated its grand opening. The club fell upon hard times, which were then compounded by the Great Depression. The club house was eventually demolished. My house apparently was a model for the resort houses that where never built. There is another down the street that almost identical and is beleived to be the only other house from the Club.
